Default 09' IS350 Dyno before/after Joe Z intake/True Dual exhaust install

Well,

Like I had mentioned in my previous thread, I have ordered and am awaiting the arrival of my Joe Z intake, Joe Z Racing dual exhaust, and F-Sport filter.

I wanted to do a before and after dyno to get an good idea on the exact hp gains from the mods.

Went to the dyno this morning for some stock baselines and did 3 back to back pulls. I am pleasantly surprised at the stock hp numbers, as I thought they would be lower.

After I install the mods, I will return to the dyno and post the after charts and video.

So you are probably thinking, only 10rwhp gain? 281hp PEAK. I made a spreadsheet from the data from each dyno pull. My power curve was moved lower with a total gain of 18.48RWHP @ 6000rpm, and 21.98ft/lbs torque @ 4200rpm. This is a VERY GOOD gain, and I am very happy with the results. Below is the spreadsheet.

Different types of dynos produce different results.

265 seems the most common "stock" dynojet # I've seen, so his 270-271 here is pretty good.

Well, I went to my local 1/8th mile this evening. Last time I ran I was completely stock, and my best was 8.79@80.3mph.

This time I have the Joe Z intake, and f-sport filter installed. My best et today was 8.67@81.5mph.
What is odd is that was my lowest mph of the day. My best mph today was on an 8.69@83.9mph run. And all my other runs averaged 83+mph, which I attribute to the new mods

Was having bad problems with wheelspin.. averaging 2.0's 60fts. Really want to work my way down to high 1.8's or low 1.9's. I ended up lowering my air pressure on my Continental DWS's to 27psi... still having wheelspin. Tried off idle launch, and mostly did around 1000-1100rpm launches. Just wasn't hooking today. With a good 60ft, I think 8.5's would be possible.

now to see how the Joe Z exhaust helps out when I receive it. Should bump my 1/8th mph up in the 87-88mph range I would think, which isn't bad. May have to end up getting a set of drag radials to get the 60ft's where I want them.

Yeah, they are a high treadwear tire. They are actually due to be changed and i am considering finding a set of rear rims and mounting et streets or drag radials on them for the track. Will definitely go with a stickier street tire on current rims though. I am also considering going ahead with the PPE headers and playing with a 65 shot of NOS.

Thanks Hoovey...I had those same questions when I was looking to do mods and didnt see the info i needed..so I figured I might as well put it all in one post, so people interested in theJoeZ products can see hard numbers along with dragstrip mph gains. When I receive and install the JoeZ exhaust I will redyno the car to see the gains.

Gonna do a before and after on the 65 shot on the dyno? Or is that only for the track?

Yes, if I go with NOS I will dyno. Mainly to be sure the a/f ratio stays safe.

yes... please keep an update on how the nitrous goes. Ive been throwing the idea up for about a month now about putting a small shot on my IS350. Ive had a few cars in the past ( k series Hondas) with nitrous but theres not very much info on how it works on the 350.

IIRC HKS350 (or maybe it was someone else?) ran a nitrous setup on his IS350 and ran low 12s all day in the 1/4 mile. I don't recall his dyno #s right now.
