Any one interested in a 2jz-gte swap?
If any of you gs owners are thinking of getting this done, i know a really good shop. The shop is C & N performance in maiami they mostly deal with 2jz and 1 jz swaps into Mkiii supras, they know this engine and toyotas and lex's inside out, have have a good rep. Im planning on doing a tt with 6 speed tranny on my 95 gs300 in about 5-6 months. He told me he would do the whole swap including custom parts like 1jz bellhousing custom driveshaft, and the crazy job of wiring itall up and all your functionswork properly, for 1500 thats right $1,500. Thats of course without the engine and tranny. tt supra engines jdm typically run 4k, and trannys about 2k. So you can then have the aftermarket support and power of a 2jzgte. So for about 7-8k you can have this. Improbibly going to do BPU or stay on stock twins but with basic stuff like downpipe, exhause, intake, boost controller, fmic. This is about 400-430 RWHP if that will not be enough, i will latter go with a single turbo set up. This guy is really cool and knows his stuff his website http://southfloridatuners.com/c&n_pe...e/default1.htm
Thanks for the INFO..
At one time I had thought about the Swaps but Usually Only California was the only place to find the availabilty to do sucha thing..
Something to think about - Only bad thing is if I switch Transmission the Supra Auto is 4 Speed.. And the GS's have 5 Speed auto and alot of us have that 3.76 Supra Rear end.. It sure would be a freakin beast but does take away from the luxury aspect of our lexus cars..
Maybe If I can buy a cheap GS and do the swap and have it as a tuner car only. Would be quite interesting..
But For my car I like my V8 and Now with SRt's Twin-turbo - I may opt for that..
Thanks,
QWK
