Default Ran my is350 last night

is there an official IS 1/4 mile thread? I couldn't find one..
Anyway I ran my car last night. Keep in mind im in Utah our track is 4424'ft. above sea.
temp was 38degrees.
fist pass was my quickest, and funnest as i beat my friends 2011 Camaro SS
he ran a 14.4@98
I ran..
60'----- 2.14
330'----6.01
1/8th---9.19
1000'--11.90
1/4 -----14.19@97 traction control on launched @ 2000rpm's

2nd pass
surprisingly slower with traction control off.
it felt like it left better with minimul wheel spin. but 60' was 2.26
launched @1500rpm's
ran 14.4@97

mods: joe Z intake, removed spare tire

Density altitude kills 1/4 mile times on NA cars- the 2IS seems especially bad about it... you're a good full second off the best 1/4 mile times for a stock-ish 350...

http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus--IS350-Drag-Racing.html

assuming 29.92 pressure and 15% humidity you had a DA at that temp and height of 4096 feet... adjusted for sea level your 1/4 mile on the first run would be 13.477 @ 102.184 MPH

Which is pretty respectable... get the 60' down to 2.0 and it'd be downright quick for the stock-ness of the car.

cool thanks! Any tips on the launch? and would it make a differce if i had the ETC power on?
I thinks I may hide a dry Nitrous kit and just spray in 3rd and 4th. and tell everyone it's stock

1/4 gas tank, removal tools, spare tire, any excesories, floor mats manual , i meant anything lolz ( optional rear seat and passenger seat )lolz, one foot on the brake and other foot on the gas pedal revving just under 1k rpm ready to launch when the yellow amber is on. Release the foot on brake pedal and full throttle on the gas pedal

ECT-Normal (not power) produces the best 1/4 mile times... basically ECT-Normal and TRAC/VSC off, good tires, then see how high you can launch without any wheelspin... ideal is if you track runs a test and tune day where you can run it a bunch of times and see what works... (though you'll want to let the car cool down between runs ideally to avoid heatsoaking the engine)

Soften up the rear suspension, if you are on adjustables. Lower psi in rear tires if you have stiff or reinforced sidewalls. Of course avoid the water box. Load up the converter on the line around 1500 rpms and WOT at final yellow light. Stage deep for a better 60 ft, but a greater chance of red-lighting.

Have fun!

Yeah that sounds about right given your altitude above sea level.

The fact that your friend's 2011 Camaro SS ran 14s also is testament to that fact.

This is the sad and unfortunate reality of N/A cars.

Try ECT-Power just for kicks.

Yeah it's slower, but I'd like to have more data points available. I fully expect ECT-power to be slower, but I'd like to see what you can pull in the 1/4 mile with ECT-power on.
