I'm usually in Normal mode. I will test out PWR for awhile and see how I like it. The car is stock except for Magnaflows and deleted rear resonators.

So I'm back after having the PWR button on all week. It seems when in Normal mode, I get 350-360 miles off a full tank and with the PWR button on I've only managed 320 miles and that's with the Nav menu saying my cruising range is only 2 more miles!

^ Sheesh. How are you getting that kind of mileage? I haven't pulled more than 320 to a tank in both normal and PWR. You must go downhill a lot lol.

Man talk about waking up the dead...thread that is LOL. I'm sure when he's geting 350/360 he's been glowing (gas light). Oh you will find that you'll eat 540's too. BMW's are slow except for their M series.

the only difference is it's a bit quicker off the line. I guarantee any gas mileage difference you see will be a result more of your foot than the traction control system.

But we're talking about ECT, not VSC

some of the responses in here gave me a good LOLOLOLOL

ect pwr just lets the trans wait longer for an upshift, and gives you a higher redline. all these people saying it makes the car go faster, or makes it worse on gas, make me lololol its a transmission controller not a nitrous system haha!

i cant feel ANY difference between regular mode and pwr mode.....the ONLY reason i leave it in PWR is because of all the anoying upshifting it does in normal.

and snow mode....in snow.....is FTW!

My dad hates it when he gets into the car and finds the the PWR button on. He swears it kills fuel economy, and breaks the car. XD

He doesn't know crap about keeping up with his cars though, which is why I now stuck fixing so many things with it.

But now I don't use the PWR button really. I went under the hood and tightened up the throttle cable because it had loads of slack in it, and now the car feels a whole lot more responsive. There is still a pretty decent lag on acceleration though when I floor the gas from cruising speed.

Glad this thread was bumped. I completely forgot about that button. I have used it maybe once and do get annoyed by the constant upshifting at slow speeds. When I pull it out this spring I am going to start using this.

im going to dyno my car on sunday...for ****s and giggles i will dyno 1 run in normal, and 1 run in pwr. i bet money there is no difference.

its a transmission controller. the variation in mileage should be MINIMAL. if ANYTHING the normal mode will get slightly better mpg from the constant upshifting....but if you drive like me....it also downshifts a ton. so the pwr mode might actually get better mpg depending on your driving habits. i know i get better mpg in pwr mode.

well that pretty much de-bunks the myth that the ETC makes more hp in "pwr mode" that it does in the regular "econo mode"

lol
