Just did this a few days ago. Initially, I wasn't impressed...but two days later, DAMN!! very very nice mod.

The tranny hooks up with less slippage. From a near stand still on a merging lane to an open lane, press on the gas, it hooks up and accelerate better. Really nice, make sure you fill it up correctly.

btw, I made a mistake trying to pry the pan open with a screw driver, don't. use a pan scraper, it's flat and wide, so it won't bend your pan. loosen on each sides and pull the pan down. When putting the pan back on, don't forget to align and insert the tube back into the tranny dip stick (I did, had to unbolt and put back on).

The hardest part of this job is pulling the pan...so it's a freakn easy mod.

btw, I used royal purple.

Two clicks clock wise. pay attention to the tab because it'll move. You can move it back into place though.

I wish we could find documentation from lexus as to what the point of the valve is... Im sure if it would increase the performance, they would have done it from the factory.

I guess we will find out sooner or later.

It doesn't really make it shift faster. Just a bit firmer. With that it's a little more harsh feel. Most people who buy a Lexus aren't looking for a performance vehicle so it is set to shift softer to make the ride nicer.

Wow, too bad I sold my car. A free mod like this is deff worth a try. Plus crisper shifts are usually better for the trans. Nice find guys.

Personally...I don't use gaskets on oil pans, whether it's engine or trans because they always seem to leak. I use the ultra gray and have not had a leak.

I've had better luck with this product but ultimately it's up to you.

Quick question...Does anyone see any danger in doing this mod? I'm not trying to fry a tranny on my daily driver....I'll save roasted trannys for the fun car...lol.
