I'm planning on doing a ls1 swap and currently collecting parts and data.
I'm looking at the wiring diagram for our cars and I see that there's a fuel pump control ecu (I think all of the lexus do?). I know that on sc300, these are bypassed to get 12v out of PCM (for gte swaps). What about on GS3s?
I will be bypassing it no matter what, but just wanted to find out what gte swap guys are doing?
This should help it is located on the back of the rear seats on the drivers side. I connected the incoming 12V from the EFI relay to the output of the unit. I believe it was the two heavy gauge wires that were in the plug.
I plan on running a seperate relay that gets closed with ls1 ECU + signal.
Before, I was searching and didn't see anyone mentioning this bypass.
So I asked out of pure curiousity whether or not fuel control ECU are bypassed when GTE swap is done.
Also, if they are mentioned alot, I suck at searching..
I bypassed mine but it was a couple of months after i did the swap. The car ran fine without it bypassed but I did it to make sure it didn't go lean at low RPM.
