Default Anyone Know How To Clean The F-Sport Filter Without The Cleaning Fluid?

Just as the title says...I got my intake off my old car and want to clean out of the filter. What's the best way besides just blowing it out with air, to clean it? I don't want to buy the solution from Sewell. Thanks.

They probably don't , but do they list what the solution is? Like 50% water or anything?

I did some searching. Looks like the solution is just soap and water - If anyone can clear this up that'd be great. It's about a 30K mile old filter so it needs a cleaning. I will probably just use water and then blow it out with air.

Why don't you want to buy the solution?

Well if it's some special formula that is ONLY to be used with the filter...I'll pay the money. But my issue is if it's some 10% soap 90% water mixture rebranded to say F-Sport...No thanks, I'll get blow it out and wash it. Do you think the solution is worth it?

I have no idea what's in it and what it costs.

I'd be curious to know also as it's almost time for me to clean mine. Does anyone have a bottle they can check for a list of ingredients?

Where did you buy 2 bottles for $10?

This is what Sewell wants for 1 bottle:

F-Sport Air Filter
Cleaning Solution

In Store: $26.00
Online: $23.66
ClubLexus Price: $17.44

I just did it with water and sprayed it with lots and lots of compressed air to get the junk out. It's perfectly clean and dry. Looks like new. I took the tube off too and cleaned it and the box. There was some funky stuff in there!

Default Finally cleaned it out

just thought id bring this thread back up . . . didn't use anything to fancy, dish soap and warm water. did it today, and what i found in there was some pretty gross stuff, such as bugs and tree debris in the filter itself! i hadn't clean it for about 20k. its been awhile. glad that i did, the only down fall is that the filters still not dry. i left it out in the sun all afternoon and rotated it bout every 2 hours. hopefully it;ll be done by tomorrow evening. but for now I'm using the OEM disposable white filter.
