Are you robbing a bank? I had my GS300 to about 140 with no modifications. If you have an Aristo swap with a Aristo computer you are limited to 113 with no modifications.

It's actually limited at 149. Be careful out there, lol.

Needed how? do you mean for street racing? what else would you needed for, unless its a track/quarter car.

BTW, if you had to ask is because you probably havent gone over 100, and at that speed i would not be worrying about my governor but rather all other supporting mods to take the car to 140 plus. in stock form or minor mods i would NOT recommend going over 100.:thumbdn:

I guess is nice to dream though:cool:

The stock car can go 145mph without too much of an issue as long as most of it is on straight road. It just takes a really long time to get there lol. The reason most people don't post up on how do remove the speed limiter is probably because of liability reasons. I have it done on my cars, but I won't disclose that info.

lol @ only if needed

my advice, do the speed limit and dont risk your life or others around you.

i wouldn't think it would be in a curve. Can you elaborate on a stock car? stock as in out the dealer/ new OEM parts or 98-05 stock untouched.

I don't quite understand why ppl on this forum say not to go over 100mph in a stock GS. And i'm talking about the cars ability, not legal reasons. The limiter is in place because 145(ish) is the safe limit for a stock gs, ie why lexus put it there lol

Obviously I am not taking into consideration someone who has worn out suspension parts or anything like that, but a stock GS in good condition should have no problem, and as I said, I just dont understand why ppl say otherwise. (and this is like the 4-5th time someone has said it)

Oh, and before ppl start bashing lol I have gone just shy of 140, oh and Jeff it didnt take that long....going down hill.... :)

I think this answers your own question. No one is talking about the ability of the car.

When my bone stock GS300 was new in 2005, I took it to the speed limiter with no problems. Everything was pretty much brand new on the car and all the suspension was still very tight because the car was only about 1 year old. It had no problem hitting that speed, it just took a while to get there lol. The reason Toyota put that limiter on there is because of the tires that came from the car from the factory....They are rated to 150mph :)

I'm not sure if your supporting both of us or neither lol
But wouldn't it make more since that the limiter was put on to match the capabilities of the car? Jw, I mean I know other car makers do it that way. It just seems to me that the tires would not be the deciding factor. But thats just me lol
