Performance Forced induction, intakes, exhausts, torque converters, transmissions, etc.

Is a 2JZ-GTE swap truly worth it? Your thoughts are appreciated.

It just depends on how good the company you buy from is. If they are shady, they might be trying to sell you a blow motor or something. Usually, if its a reputable company and they want to keep their reputation, they will check the motors there in Japan before shipping them to the US/Canada.

Yeah ive started to look around and i'm only guna buy from a company that has compression videos and great reputation. As far as reliablility with these motors, how are they for a daily driver? If all the maitnenance, timing belt, water pump, oil pump and spark plugs is done before the swap?

As long as the engine was in good shape to begin with and all the maintenance was done before dropping in the engine, then you shouldn't really have any issues even up till like 200-250K+ miles.

Toyota has done a great job on turbo JZ motors. I'm looking to do a swap too sometime down the track (once suspension and brakes are sorted).

Default good deal on 2jzgte

Sorry to "Bogard" the thread, I'm just trying to help out any members on this post in need.

I was just at C & T Japanese engines last week and they have 3 2jzgte's(2-VVTI, 1-non-VVTI). Thenon-vvti goes for 1600$. the other 2 vvti's go for 2200$ I believe. all motors have under 45,000 km on them.

give em a call. they drop off to your door free(within reason..depends on the drive)

type this into google maps(not sure about posting company info on the boards here)

"C & T Japanese Engines Inc ontario,ca"

Google maps will give you what you need. They can also handle special requests from japan too.

Also type "Gspeed Corporation hawthorne,CA" in google maps too.
I almost bought a pearl white aristo(47,00mi) a year and half ago from them They were gonna sell me the whole Aristo, with another front clip and rear clip aristo(All wheel drive version) and give me another used 2jzgte. All this for 7,000$ usd.

The reason I did not jump at it at that time was It was not guaranteed that I would get a certificate of registration from the DMV. So I lost out.

I was there 1.5 years ago and they were having trouble selling their cars(No one knew aboutt hem and they needed to clear the floors). An R32 going for 4,000$, a chaser, going for 5,200, type r honda integra's for 4,500$, and an actual mazda cosmo for 2,700$(engine needed work), EP91(95' toyota starlet) for 2,900. And all the cars looked nice(not perfect showroom, but definitely a steal compared to avg used condition here).

If you give them a call ask for Jorge.

Gspeed used to have an official website listing all the cars, front/rear clips, trannies, and motors they have with pics and the incoming arrivals. Last time I checked was 9 months ago i think. They also take special requests for certain vehicles too, but you need to put a down payment of some sort.

this is the closest thing I found.

C & T japanese engines is down the street form me. It has been years since I visited the site but it seems theirs is down too. This may help tho.

this is a great topic... and i am curious myself because i would love to get a GS and do a GTE swap... or if the GE is good enough turbo that.

being an ex 750whp supra owner i know a bit about the GTE but not really the GE. what i can say is this: the GTE was great, take those stock twins OFF before you install the motor!! you'll save yourself A LOT of hassle and it's a lmore more simple.. even if you want "just" 450whp (get a small single).

BECAUSE... you will want more... and more... and it'll be easy to just swap out the turbo and be done with at least up to 800whp reliably.

now with that being said... is the GS400 just as capable to swap a GTE than a GS300? i mean the wiring harness, transmission, etc?

I'm pretty sure it is...

The V8's aresolid, would be killer to do forced induction on those!
