i wouldnt say its LEAGUES beter .. its beter no doubt.. but not crazy beter....

anyone who has a modded 350 will have beter suspension (if you go the coil over route) the main thing that the F has over the is350 is then trans and the 100 hp , anything else you could make beter than the F easily on the 350 if you mod it

but stock for stock its no comparison the F > the 350 forsures

Supercharging or turbocharging does two things very quickly - reduces service life and voids your entire powertrain warranty while increasing the odds you'll need it significantly.

Something no one knows yet is how much torque the A760 gearboxes can safely handle. Knowing Aisin, my bet is it's not a lot over stock.

There are still lots of unknowns to boosting and service life. Only time will tell.

You're absolutely right. But as of now I like my car being boosted, even if it loses to an F. IF anything ever happens I just plan on swapping motors and boosting that again LOL

There is a big plus to this - junkyard engines are pretty easy to get and not terribly expensive because there isn't any aftermarket for them. So swapping and boosting will work and it won't be some ridiculous sum to Lexus to get another decent engine.

Yeah I saw a IS250 engine for like $1800 haha. And a IS350 for like $3000 but I'm sure that has changed already. So I'm not too worried

Some of us here just cant drop 2, 3, 6 or whatever amount of thousands you want for just boost. We got other people to think about other then ourselves and our cars. So thats why we have to ask..to find out if its even within our means. if not then we dont bother. its natural to ask these questions. How much am i going to spend on something like this. And how much am i willing to spend on something like this.

would be cheaper to trade in for a 350, your ecu is not gunna like your 350 motor in a 250 what so ever.

Agreed, but if money is a concern why'd you even buy a $35+ car? Or why even contemplate on spend money to boost? BTW I have other things and to worry about other than my car.

Another great point, you're one of the few people in this thread that sees it for what it is. Even if this kit was $4K out the door people would still complain about cost. People have to be patient with the 2IS platform it's not a typical sports car that has been out or one that shares stuff with the MKIV Supra like the 1st gen IS/SC and 1st/2nd gen GS300. I would buy a supercharged 6spd IS250 over a IS350 any day simply because I want a clutch and I like shifting manually. The IS350 will probably still be faster but it's more about enjoying the driving than seeing who's faster for me and if going fast is an issue I will put up my SC against any 2IS including the F

I had no desire to run my 350 on a road course. The F runs a road course with just a brake pad change and nothing else. It's VERY competent, and leagues better than the 350.

I agree with all of the above except the seats.

No vented on the F last I knew, heat only

(yeah I know the F seats have better lateral support, but I spend more time driving in hot weather than I do whipping around turns at speeds high enough to make me slide in the 350 seat)

Had the vents. They're lame and I don't miss them at all. Nothing beats the F's bolsters short of a full race seat. And I DO whip around turns at high speeds...
