Default Newb question. PWR button?

Searched and couldn't find anything. What does the PWR button mean on my 99 Lex GS300? I pressed it, the ECT PWR light came on the dash. Performance seemed exactly the same as with it off. The shifts seemed somewhat harder tho. What does this button do please? Thanks for your patience.

It let you shift at a higher RPM, stay at a higher rpm in a specific gear and give you more of a performance "boost" You should notice a little difference but not too much. I drive with it on all the time.

wont really notice anything actually except maybe a decrease in gas mileage due to the higher shift point

In my turbo IS i get about 1.5psi extra when using the power button as it does whole the rpms longer in stock form i dunno if it really makes a diff.

This isn't a fact, but I feel like it is makes it's a lot more prone to down shift quicker to achieve what the throttle request of it. I'm not saying the shift itself is faster, I just think when the button is pressed it will seek to down shift rather than stay in the gear and accelerate.

The only this I have noticed with it on is that the gas pedal goes down easier and less mpg lol....
