Default Mysterious OIL LEAK

Oil Leak!!! cant trace it

from the top working in, with plastic pully cover off the first and highest place oil is found is om the seal of the plastic cover, going down...there is oil on the tube that comes from motor in the front of the header. and it pools and gathers in places working down to the plastic under guard. HAS ANYONE GOT A CLUE WHAT THIS COULD BE? VALVE COVER GASKET RECENTLY REPLACED, GASKET ON PULLEY ABOVE ALTERNATOR LOOKS NEW ASWELL. IM PUZZLED. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Ya same leakage I see on all higher mileage 2jz engines. Same place it comes out. Timing belt has to come off and the cover behind the sprockets. Expensive if you arent doing yourself. Good time to do cam seals, crank seal, vvti sprocket, timing belt set and water pump if old, drive belt if old etc.

I'd like to think I can do it myself, are there many tools I would need for the job? parts? Is it safe to keep driving it. the oil level hasn't dropped...I mean, nothing noticeable on the dipstick. HM gruffly to have it done in a shop?

this is the first thing i did on my GS when i bought it, the bare minimum you would need to replace to fix the leak is the cam seal and the VVT-I gear. they do sell rebuild kits for the gear but honestly the gear is cheap enough and not worth the hassle.

personally since you have to take it all off to reach it anyway i would do
timing belt
water pump
cam and crank seals
vvti gear
and if you havent already the damn valve cover gaskets

these engines are very sturdy and will last such a long time if you take care of them.
