damn sick video.. nitrous is definitely addicting... and 35 bucks for a full 10lbs bottle is awesome.. in houston its around 40 to 50 bucks a fillup.

I have a friend with a fill station in his garage and he charges me $12 for my 5lb bottle

Not to flame or anything but you should really have a wideband I think. Running a dry shot on a motor like this you probably want to know your not gonna mess up anything. I promised myself that if I go with N20 I'm getting a wideband or some other form of professional tuning.

Thats fine I dont feel flamed feedback like that just makes me think people are trying to look out for me and my car I know its the safer thing to do but I am done with the juice on my car (license is suspended till august 2010) No more legal drag or anything anymore ... these motors.. no these cars can take ABUSE I have raped my car in canyons on the strip on the freeway and intentionally tried to break things and never succeeded

Btw there are no professional tunes for these cars

The problem is, without your having done any datalogging or dynoing, we have no idea if this is really true or not.

All we know is you ran X size jet, and the car still runs.

Given the datalogging Jeremy saw with a 65 shot on pump gas, and an 80 shot on 100 octane race fuel, I'd be a little surprised if you were genuinely getting as big as shot as you claim without running leaner than would be considered ideal on pump gas.

We don't know the actual whp produced, and we don't know what the engine was doing the whole time to have any idea if you've done any damage not immediately obvious to engine (or transmission, especially if you kept the spray on between shifts given you didn't use a window switch or a WOT switch or anything)

Running as you have with no info and no safety equipment you might have been unbelievably lucky and not hurt anything.... or you might've taken 10 years off the life of the powertrain... but without any data we've no idea.


And FYI- there are no tunes... but something like a SAFC -will- alter the A/F ratio temporarily... a couple folks have used this to lean out the car NA and pick up 5-7 hp for the track... the ECU tunes the changes back out about 100 miles or so, but it does work initially... and one could go the other way with it and richen the tune if they're at the track with an N20 bottle for the day. But again, without any wideband data we've no idea if it's needed, or to what degree.


None of this is to flame you in any way either, it's your car, you did what you want with it... but it's letting others considering nitrous know that there'd be a lot of value in doing things a bit more systematically than you did.

Just to echo Montgbs comments, I'd sure like to hear anything you have to say on the topic, especially if you've got any new info since the previous thread mentioned, and double especially since you're the only one I know that's actually done any systematic testing on nitrous with any logging/dynoing behind it.
