Default Whining Noise from engine

Hey guys,

Two days ago I installed the SRT intake. About a day later I'm now hearing a whining noise from the engine at idling RPM's. When I push the GAS, noise seems to go away.

Any ideas before I take it in to mechanic?

NO I know natural...

Took it to my local mechanic and he looked at it and was able to determine the bearings on one of the idler pulley are shot.....

Not too expensive to fix...would probably be fixed under warranty by the dealer but F#$K the dealer...they'll probably screw something else...

especially after all the horror stories I'm reading on this forum.

Should be fixed in no time. Hopefully that's it and I can get back to MODDING!

Is that horror stories about your dealer in particular? Or bad experiences you've had there? Dealers aren't perfect but it's best to try to have a good relationship with them.

I think dealers always seem to find something ELSE wrong! They're in the business of making money after all. I just dont trust them, that's all.
I went to the dealer once and wanted to see how honest they were.
As part of the service, they were supposed to rotate tires (B4 I got rims) and inspect various fluids levels, change oils, etc.

I marked the tires before I reached the dealership and put a paper dot underneath a couple of the fluid caps.

Bottom line:
Tires not rotated. Charged for the service.
Fluids suppositely got checked. One of stickers still intact.

Bunch of thieves!

Yes, of course, the Service Department is the life blood revenue stream for the dealerships these days.

I usually find it helpful when visiting a Service Dept early on to set the bar for my expectations and relay my level of attention to detail I focus on my car, that way, the service rep, or manager will see you are not some sheep of an owner and will not try to see if they can hose you.

I might seem like an a-hole at first, but they respect you a little more if you show that you give a damn about your car and how it is to be treated.

At least when I've been to the dealers, they enjoy seeing a nicely tuned GS, since they are a rarity, at least in these parts. I usually get at least one sincere compiment whenever I'm at the dealer.
