Mazurris out of business though and only made a few sets of 350 headers.

The dynos that were done showed no measurable gains.

(there was a suggestion of kinda some torque gain at very low rpms, but you could tell from the graphs it wasn't useful info as it was so far to the left it was below the rpms you can reliably base anything on with an auto IS... HP gains were almost exactly 0).

To my knowledge nobody has dynoed the Megan headers on a 2IS at all, or at least I've never seen any such data posted.

Do you have a baseline to compare it to? (done on your car, everything else identical to how it is now except without the headers)

Thanks.
From outside the car, you didn't even hear any exhaust tone, all you would hear is engine noise when I only had F-sport intake and Tanabe exhaust....now with the megan midpipe added, the exhaust hits a nice aggressive purr, nothing ricey at all. It is not too loud, it does not drone, it is just perfect. This car should have come like this from the factory 100% no regrets! I have already gotten many compliments with the midpipe in!

isuxel you are a great person and I love your enthusiasm regarding this car , but I asked you this same question when you were emailing about installation questions regarding the mazzuri headers. Having had the headers, I told you that you probably wouldn't make much power if any. Furthermore, all of your future dyno's are 100% useless considering you never had a baseline. How can you tell what helped and what didn't? How much power is coming from the SC vs. the headers vs. the exhaust etc...??

I never understood why you didn't get baselines. you obviously have some money to buy the SC and headers. You could def afford to pay for a 75.00 dyno. Heck back in the day when we first started messing with the 2gen's we woudl start dyno funds for those that were going to try something. I am sure you could have got 3 people to send you 25.00 each.

anyways again your enthusiasm is great, just wasted without the baselines.

would you say before the midpipe that you would get some drone when going up hills in the 2k-3k rpm range?

second question, where did you pick up your mid pipe?

Thanks

First answer: it had a slight drone to it, but that is obviously because of stock resonator, compare the two pipes and you will notice it.

Honestly I just went to amazon.com and picked it up for $450, it seemed to go for this price everywhere I looked.

I will decide to buy the Megan Mid pipe instead of Header.

For the one who had install the Megan Mid-Pipe, what did you do with the O2 sensor? Remove?

FYI, Invidia just released a mid-pipe for the ISx50s. Not to bash Megan products but for those who are looking for a midpipe with better welding, fit and finish, and overall quality, consider the Invidia as an option. I believe the price for the Invidia is less than $500.

One of the vendors is doing an introductory special for them right now.

My exhaust is straight pipes with an X-pipe in the middle. All Magnaflow including mufflers and tips. Sounds and feels amazing.

It is easy to cut the metal surrounding the sensor, but it isn't a good idea. The metal is a heat sync to help cool the sensor. Removing that heat sync will degrade its performance and shorten its life. Of course, the secondary O2's aren't critical, but it would be a really bad idea to cut the heat syncs off the primary sensors (wideband O2) since they are so critical to good performance, reliability, and fuel economy. If you add the extra heat from forced induction, you may actually need larger heat syncs on the primary sensors.
