As stated above finally got it done. The car is a 1998 GS400 with 157000 miles, same set up as Rock-a-Lex. 3.76 Rear. PI Torque Converter (2800) 17 wheels (factory). K&N FIPK with AMSOIL air filter and Apexi Neo tuned. Result is 266 RWHP. Forgot to ask about the TQ, will check back with them tomorrow. Nice, someone with catback and apexi neo made 260hp and 283trq. So the intake neo combo yielded more hp nice. Where is rock a lex with his tune numbers? Sam430 if you are in norcal and found a place to install ss for 200bucks please do tell

Nice job Clive! Your numbers are impressive and I'm glad that you "feel" the extra power after speaking with you. Reset that ECU and your CEL should go away.

As far as my situation, I'm gonna get my butt to No Limit Motorsports probably next weekend. I just got my car back from my local mechanic. The crack in the driver cat (previously welded) is holding fine. The exhaust leak is actually coming from between the driver side header flange and the driver side cat flange...all the bolts are tighted fully but there is a space (I guess from the gasket) between this area that is flaring out the edges so it is not a perfect seal like the other side. He put some type of "weld cream" that becomes VERY hard when it gets hot. I took her for a ride and she is running great (and sounding great) so I'm gonna bring her in for the dyno now.

Great job again Clive! Try to get us your torque numbers and hopefully I will see you at the meet on 3/22.

What was you air/fuel? Very important you get that as well so you can know that the car is running safely. I saw a mention of a check engine light, was this only after the dyno session? If so the person tuning it may have caused a lean condition trying to get more power. Be sure to ask them for your a/f readings when you get your updated graph.

Clive, those are pretty solid numbers with the mods you've made so far. what's next for you?

i'm actually starting to what sounds like an exhaust leak around the same area. guess it's time to look into a new exhaust...

hi guys,
just some additional info, i will not be able to get the torque numbers and air/fuel numbers until tomorrow. The base HP that was relayed to me was 251. Thats with the just the K&N intake with the AMSOIL filter. The tuned NEO netted 15 additional HP. This is therefore how it breaks down for me, (bone stock 234 -240 HP) K&N FIPK with AMSOIL filter yields (11-17 HP). I keep pointing out the AMSOIL filter because i don't have figures with the standard K&N filter, but i can say that there was a definite change when i switched to AMSOIL filter, the car felt stronger.( I made the changed to AMSOIL 6 weeks after the FIPK install, approximately 200 miles.

HI guys,
Future plans are only one. drive it. The car already has all the optional suspension parts, (TRD and TOMS) lowered on TEIN S techs and KYB GR2. so the only thing left for me to do is to drive.

Yep! He quoted me $170..then said maybe $150...then I smiled and said yeah..sounds good. I'm sure the price will go up for the people doing it after me. Yep...I don't have to touch it.

I had my last dyno done in February 2008; that day was about 38 degrees if I remember correctly. We both got dyno's by the same guy at the same shop...(there is only one guy that does all their dyno's there).

Clive, I'm glad that you too my advice on the Amsoil filter; I kind of stumbled onto it. I ran some volume and surface area figures and saw that it was better than the K&N filter yet filters better and no more oiling! Oh, BTW did your CEL go away after the ECU re-set?
