I would say that unless you will be running your car really hard like at a track day and then shutting it off right afterwards that you dont need one. Some people install them cus they think its cool. Most timers offer extra features that you might or might not use also.

I like the ones that will automatically adjust the time according to how long/hard you drive your car. I have the GReddy full auto timer. I can't keep my foot off the gas when I'm driving so when I get where I'm going the timer will automatically run from 30 seconds to 9:59. The best part is that I don't have to sit there while it times down.

ive always thought it was weird to let your car run after youve left it haha but as stated a full auto timer will be your best bet, never too little and never too much, and no guesswork involved. Be aware aside from being FI and pedaling her to feel the boost even using a turbo timer will cause you to consume gas a little more quickly than you may think.

don't need.......maybe not but you should def always use one. that way u don't let oil sit and burn itself in the turbo and cake on and clog it. its def a worthwhile mod no matter if u do track days or not.....more for the maintenance of the turbo but that's enough of a reason for me to get one

Yea you dont need one but id get one. They arent that expensive and its just a good thing to have. Just one more thing to extend the life of your turbo.

I agree you don't actually need one like mentioned before but for what they cost its just a good idea to get one. they are usually in the $85-125 range for some good brands ones..
