Default megan axle back installed (pics and vid)

got it put on this morning

will make vid for sound after work

so far... i love the slanted fit.. small canisters compared HKS.. and i love the sound.. very deep and not one bit of high pitch whine even at wide open throttle.. this is without the silencers.. i took them out

edit: driving home from work.. very deep but only at lower rpm and lower gears.. at wide open throttle.. it does scream like any other exhaust..

i also noticed that at cruising.. 5th or 6th gear above 2500rpm.. it's virtually silent.. i have yet to take it on the freeway so i can't say about drone at around 80mph but its definitely quieter then the hks i heard

Is there a benefit (performance or otherwise) to using an angled exhaust?

Also, I'm not a fan of the holes in the exhaust tips - I assume those are for the silencers. Overall, I like the look of the HKS Hi-Power more, but I might be a bit biased.

the only thing i dont like about the hks is the huge canisters and 4.5 inch tips.. it just looks too big for the IS.. it looks like two rockets hanging out back

personally i like angled exhausts.. i've had hks angled exhausts on my previous two cars.. if the hks for the IS was angled.. i think it wouldn't look as big as it does now just completely straight..

no i dont think i want the midpipe.. without the resonators.. the high pitched whine is too ricey.. not for a lexus.. its all about the deep tone so i think this is perfect

thanks.. its actually weird that the hks for 2is isn't angled.. because the hi power for GS is angled.. i would have gotten the hks a while back if it weren't completely straight.. i almost did come to think of it..

i only like the round canister N1 style exhausts so i had limited choice in the affordable range.. i do like the tanabe look tho.. it fits our car nice.. but its not a round canister.. thats just my thing lol
