Ignoring for a moment that a dyno test with a car standing still with the hood open and fans blowing on it is the worst possible way to test power gains from a device intended to be used with the hood closed and the car moving...

Who has dyno proven it to add ANY power at all, apart from the people trying to sell it to you?

The best intake is the one you make yourself. I built one for about $60 2 years ago. No problems whatsoever, and it made 10.8 whp (went from 250.2 to 261 even) on a DynoDynamics dyno, which are typically more conservative than a dynojet or mustang dyno. FYI: The hood was closed and a single fan was placed in front.
Sure you can spend $300 on F-Sport, LMS, Fujita and so on, but why? You rarely see the intake. It is just a tube with a filter on it. And homemade makes every bit as much power as others on the market.

Good point . Then its settled, intakes are only for looks and sounds.

i had a fujita intake at one point. now i have the joez.

there was nothing wrong with the fujita no cel...nothing. it was rated at the time to get 19 horses (by fujita)... and joez 5hp with a drop in filter... i think someone did a real dyno and got about 5hp on the fujita too but notice a loss of power on the low end...

the fujita does sound nicer...

but joez has been known to consistantly give you those gains... by many tests by members on this forum

main reason i got out of the fujita was that my Jun-tw strut bar didn't fit with the intake on... joez does though just fine...

intakes won't give our car's much of a gain at all unfortunately we don't have one of the SRT intakes that can tap the ECU

your stock intake is the best intake... get a drop in filter... probably would give you just as much ponies as any other

Have a Fujita, more than 20K miles on it, no issues whatsoever. It's more for the sound than anything else. You should probably pick on noise, not power gains unless you're planning on doing a lot of performance mods.

Actually no, he hasn't. Not one of the intake manufacturers has shown any ISx50 to trap higher in the quarter mile. All these dynos don't mean crap. Too many variables are left to chance. I've seen a 10 hp variation over three runs, so a 5 hp increase isn't saying anything on a dyno.

The whole point of a performance mod is to make the car do something better. Engine mods are supposed to accelerate the car better. So far, no one has shown any intake to do this consistently better than stock.

very well put. i do feel a slight...very slight improvement over stock w/ my tanabe/joez+K&N combo but nothing worth mentioning and probably no more than a 1-2mhp trap improvement but then again i havent tracked my car so this is just my perception from driving it stock and then with the couple mods.

I did the K&N Typhoon intake. Installed it myself, no check engine lights, and sounds great. K&N garuntees 10 or 11 HP according to the paperwork but I have never tested it.

I would say just keep your stock intake. Any intake that are out for our cars doesn't give you any kind of true performance gain besides the sound. You'll not feel the 5-10 hp gain (I'm being generous with the hp numbers here) from a 300 hp motor. If you must get one, I'd say try the K&N. It sounds pretty good at WOT. Good luck.

They might advertise 10 hp, but I doubt they guarantee 10 hp at the wheels...because simply put no intake for this car can add anywhere near that much. 5 on a great day.
