anyone have a link or can post up any experiences with the swap? how direct is it, what's all required, what pedal assemblies to use, etc?

Check out the following. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275332

It seems like everyone has done this or is going to do this but, surprisingly there is a real lack of information. It is very frustrating for me.

I am very concerned with the clutch pedal mounting as there is not a sister car that I know of that has a clutch, like the SC or IS. Then there is an issue with the emergency brake. I just would really like to see some more detailed pics of an install into either GS.

I have a GS400 and really want to do a trans swap. I am not to worried about the drive shaft or rear mount. I think that the adapter for the 1uzfe is way to much. As for the computer I think it may take some tinkering but I think you could get your cel to go off with the right combo of bypasses.

i thought the GS' in Japan came with a 5spd or 6spd factory? i'm not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd gen.

i guess the clutch master cylinder issue, if you can't fit a factory 5 or 6spd one where it should go, you can get an aftermarket one to put somewhere else.. ?

i guess the biggest quesiton would be in the pedal assembly and possibly wiring harness of the interior and exterior? i would think they'll be separate though.

Would that be a Toyota arsito or Alltezza? what should we look for?

I think that someone commented that they would use a wildwood or other racing type pedal to use as a clutch. No doubt you will have to cut down our existing break pedal in half.

hey jason - aristos never came with a manual mode, so many people in japan have done the swap to either 5 or 6 spd but never came stock, ive got some hyper rev mags and some vip car mags that show them with a manual- and the altezza is an is300
