This is the only dyno I've seen of the Borla. Just no before/after dyno to see how much he actually gained, but he put down more than I did with Tanabe, JOEZ and a HKS drop-in.

That "dyno test" really bugs me since it is from 2 different vehicles. I've been to lots of club "dyno days" in the past where "identical" cars put down +/- 5% of average. Mine put down 278 rwhp with stock exhaust.

I have decided to change the exhaust from HKS Hi-Power to Tanabe.

I'll post new pics when I get the chance...

Tanabe, Greddy, HKS, and HKS/Lexus are all axle-backs. Borla and LMS are cat-backs.

On the Lexus website, they call the Lexus HKS exhaust a cat back...

They may call it that, but I assure you that it's just an axle back

wow...reading from all the post I might just keep my stockers. I'm suprise most of you cant feel any increase in power. didnt LMS claim that either exhaust alone or with intake gains 22 rwhp? any proof?

LOL, that's what I've been trying to say this entire time about these aftermarket systems being "axle-backs" and not true cat back.

You guys that really want a true cat-back, take your car to a muffler shop so they can add on to the HKS, Tanabe systems.

But since I got smoked by a Scion tC, an exhaust system upgrade isn't the answer still. Not worth spending $600 to do the work for only a few HP more. Doesn't do anything but free up the exhaust a little bit more.

Yes, it's a piece of ****** IS250. Don't get this stupid car people. Always opt for the IS350 if you like the IS design.

Default Finally changed my HKS to Tanabe...

----------------------------------------------------------
Lexus IS350
Tanabe Touring Medallion

Dyno: No
Did you feel any Hp/Tq difference? Not as torque-y as the HKS. More subdued (almost too subdued) improvement to stock acceleration; little perceived gains from stock.
Comments on your exhaust: Much more quiet than the HKS, but definately compromises with less "umphh" during acceleration.
