Default Is this normal? ?

Hello everyone,

So i just got my 2006 is350 about a week ago and have noticed that my backup camera has been glitching out.

Example. I put it in reverse and instead of the image of whats behind me, i get a black screen with a distorted image of whats behind me.

The screen still says "check surroundings for safety" but the image is a no show. However after driving a bit the image shows back up and everything is back to normal??

This happens about 1 out of every 10 times i go in reverse and it seems to be getting more common. I really hope its not the camera going out or the nav screen cuz i know how expensive that can be -_-

Any advice or insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Oh and also i believe i read somewhere that the battery may be the culprit as well. Anybody know anything about that?? Thanks

Interesting. I haven't encounter that problem yet. Im guessing you might have a loose connection or maybe corrosion by the connector of the rear camera. I too would like more input from other members.

I'd check out the connections and see the condition of the camera itself. Had the vehicle been in a rear-end accident by chance?
