Default Tell me about SRT

New to the site folks- work with me here. Looking at all the feedback and data on the forums, Swift racing looks to be one of the higher recommended. Who out there has the intake and TC- any recommended stall for the TC. I drive around high end clients all day, and don't want them to feel anything out of the ordinary.
Love the site!!!!!

SRT only sells the TC with 2800 stall for the GS.

You really don't have many options here for TC, Level Ten, RMM, and SRT (made by Precision). Weapon R, RMM, SRT, Akimoto has the intake for GS400.

Default Other T/C

Jacob - Doesn't Mo still endorse & sell the 2400 rpm stall convertor for his supercharger applications? I was trying to decide between the two models 2 years ago when I was planning my performance mods & he said that the 2800 T/C was too strong for the rear tires when coupled with the S/C. Personally, that's the way I'd like it but he said he'd show me some love if I got the 2800 stall T/C ( for naturally aspirated cars ) now & then upgraded to one of the SRT S/C packages later & needed to change the T/C to the lower stall one if I so desired - FAT CHANCE!!

Gene,

You can get the TC for any stall speed you want. Even after the installation, you still get one free adjustment from Precision. But if you just order the TC from SRT, you'll get the 2800 stall ones for sure.

Dunby,

If you've got clients in your car regularly, just do the TC and not the intake. The intake (and exhaust, if you're thinking about that, too) will remove a lot of the quiet sophisticiation and will turn your GS400 into more of a growling snarling beast when you give it any more than minimal accelleration.

No, it's not TOO bad or I wouldn't have done it to mine.... However, if I were hauling my high end clients around all day in my Lexus, I'd have bought an LS400/430.

Hope this helps,
D

Default SNARL! Good description!

Agree with Dave, my feelings exactly – I’ve got more SNARL then I like but haven’t yet tried any kind of silencing. Actually, that’s the best description of the noise that an SRT intake makes that I’ve heard. Many (myself included) have described it as a “woosh” but that doesn’t do it justice. I wish it were as quiet a stock, but I’m not willing to give up the power for the quiet – that’s the way I see it.
