tranny shifts really hard. the rods are in. chirps first to second and second to 3rd. did you just use the stock springs?? or did you get 3 new springs to swap it out with?
Where did you get your kit? Or did you put something together on your own?
i got the kit from Jonny (Dx3)
does it chirp 1-2 and 2-3 always? or only at full throttle? how does it shift while driving normally?
1-2 some times does not chirp i think because it hits rev limiter (3.76). it chirps when i give a good amount of gas (almost flooring) but under normal driving its ok. just hear and feel the tranny shift really hard under normal driving but no wheel chirp
2-3 chirp when i floor it. no chirp under normal driving. |
so would you say its more like a thud when driving normal or not even? like notl"luxurious"?!
exactly. more like a thud when tranny is shifting.
the rods will improve 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 shifts. It will not effect 1-2 unless you have had your valve body drilled out.

Does my wife's 99 gs300 have the same tranny as my 94 Supra TT? Where do you get this valve body kit?

If you sent out your valve body to Turbo East the changes are not reversable, furthermore your car will be down for some time and you have the cost of shipping too. I looked at all options here is what I found. The rods that I am installing are the main part of the valve body upgrade, the rods will make shifts 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 shift harder and 37% faster cutting a half second off the 1/4 mile time. 1-2 shift will not be upgraded unless you drill the valve body out, I'm not bothering with 1-2 shift as it would cost me $400.00 + shipping and then downtime. Toyomoto has the stage 1 valve body upgrade for $250.00 which consists of 3 machined rods. I got mine from a guy online for $100, I'll post up video of before and after results. I'm putting them in next week as soon as they arrive.
We have the same tranny as the IS300 Auto, its the newer version of the Supra tranny and it holds 450RWHP+ http://www.modtest.com/content/ar/le...oStg1VBkit.gif |
