That is not possible on a true cat back system. Now, from the center resonator outlet flange back the GS300 and 400 are duals with resonators. I believe this is what is being CLAIMED as cat back when in reality it is only resonator back. There are 3 resonators, the single center and the duals. It looks like the apexi includes a rear Y pipe and duals to the mufflers. A true cat back would include from the catalysts which would require the front Y pipe assembly. Take a look at the diagrams I posted in the Header thread and tell me what came with your system.
yes you are right, from your definition the apexi is a resonator back. after the first center resontator it splits the y, and then straight pipe all th way to to muffler

Default a little confused....

So the majority of the people on this thread say to go with exhaust first....which seems to be a predominately cosmetic mod..... yet the SRT intake can possibly add 20 or more hp? Check thread...

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=164813

I am wondering why then the recommendation for the exhaust system over a power producing mod?

Now at $475 shipped the SRT is less expensive than the exhaust system and will provide a new "sound" for me to enjoy as well..

I think I will order the SRT tonight....

John, I am almost sure that at the end of the Y pipe is another catalytic converter, NOT just another resonator. It is part of the Y pipe with a flange on the other end that bolts to the mid pipe as shown in the diagram. This is why I refered to my Carson Tuned exhaust as a "cat back" system (as they do). Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I believe this is correct...

I just got both installed.
I installed the exhaust first and the gain in performance is minium but noticeable. But after the srt put in, the car just pullllls hard!!
So I would get srt first but if you can afford, get both.
