Question install question on tc

the tranny shop asked me if i wish to have some new springs and a few new parts done to my gs , in the valve body? is this common? when i added my tc, this would add about 125-150 to the install ballpark figure, so my question is has any of the tc guys had this done, or have they just skipped this "maintence" job? Thanks, bryan

That was not done with the install of my TC, but it was done in 2000 and I was at probably 40K miles, so the maintenance may not have been needed.

It wasn't even discussed as part of the install... I'd just check your owner's manual for service intervals on those parts.... I don't recall them being part of it.

Default A few questions.....

What's the average ballpark figure on a TC install? Any idea on the cost to change the stall speed?

I've seen prices range anywhere from $300-750 depending on who is installing it. If you go to the dealer, expect to pay top dollar. If you buy an aftermarket TC, most places offer a 1 time free upgrade to change the stall speed.
