Help Help Help Im In Trouble!!! (Intake install, can't start car)
hey guys I got my SRT intake today with ECU,
I installed it slowly and followed each instruction down to the tooth and now when I start my car, the car will start then it will shut off automatically...help guys I really am begging for help right now its x-mas eve and my car is sitting half way out my garage and I cant do anything about it.....
I tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal 5 times to reset the ecu but the problem still persist...
I think the ECU may be bad or something....also when I was installing the ECU...i was looking at the SRT diagram and when they indicated the wires to tap, they were wrong in the color but right in the position of the wire....for example....one said the wire was BLUE/YELLOW, but in acutuality is was BLACK/YELLOW.... anywho...i thought it was the ECU and so I removed it and tried to start the car...and still the problem persist even after the ECU was removed......
HELP HELP HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!

hey guys,
Okay for the past 3 hours I have been fiddling with this damn intake, and I have come to the conclusion that it is the MAF aka MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, how do I know? i took everything out and installed each component at one time, it seems as though the tubing for the MAF is not working right....I dont know how this is even a problem but it is.....the MAF can only be installed on the tubing one way....no other way is possible because of SRT's clever design.....so what am I left with??? I have no idea.... but anywho I have installed the stock system back in and it is running fine now....but if anyone has ever installed this by themselves on a GS430...please do give me some advice on this matter...thank you all in advance
-Bitkahuna .... i thought i did it wrong too....but theres no other way to put it on
-Gs4fun....yeah I did that and it works perfect now....atleast now i know its not the car and its ecu system....sigh....

yeah SRT had an intake for the 430 sometime ago..... Okay so i think I found the culprit.... the MAF sensor is attached to the SRT provided tubing by two screws and it can only be mounted one way.....
stock postion of the sensor is upside down i.e. the plug is facing upward....how can you tell? denso is written upside down....
SRT tubing....mounting position is right side up....which means the plug is facing downwards...
the mounting area for the MAF on the srt tubing has 4 hex nut screws keeping it on the tubing....
all I need to know with ANY 430 owners out there , is if the plug is facing upward (towards the hood) or facing downward (towards the ground) because if it is facing upward like the stock system then SRT made a big booboo on my intake, to the best of my knowledge I didnt think it mattered what position it was in...but now as frustrated as i am...im leaning toward the idea that is does indeed matter....

Just a long shot but you sure you don't have the piece of tubing the MAF plugs into upside down? That would explain why the MAF that 'only goes in one way' and it seems to be the wrong way right now.

The same thing happened when I took mine off to paint it and it was the MAS on upside down. Same exact symptoms (starts and dies immediately). At least on the GS400 design it goes on both ways just fine.
It only takes 5 minutes to pull it off and flip it. If I were you I'd try it - especially since it isn't working the way you've got it installed and it sounds just like what mine did.
I'm out of town with my LS so I can't take a pic or look at it to tell you which way is up.
Good luck!

So i have no idea why but SRT decided to rubber glue my connection hose on the MAF tubing....it was a b$tch trying to get that hose off...but once it was off the MAF tubing was flipped around then the MAF was installed and now....I HAVE AN SRT INTAKE! car is working great
thanks everyone for all your help,.... I was deeply afraid last night when my car was not working....

Panda, you might want to call SRT and let them know about this. They may have had a bad batch of these intakes that got shipped out like this... lucky for you, you have access to a compter and Club Lexus. Glad everything worked out for you bro... Your engine looks so clean.......

Yeah imma give them a call and let them know what happened, I read so many threads on how good their products were and have heard people rave about the performance so I decided to get one. It actually took two weeks to get here because they had a bad batch of tubes which they say got dented in shipping from their supplier...who knows?....Honestly I wasnt going to tell anyone I even got it until after winter when all the mods were done and I could unveil my freshly modded car...well now you guys have a hint at some of the things....heheh hopefully I wont be having too many other probs... my engine is actually pretty dusty right now because I left the hood open for so long on a windy day here in sac....thanks for the kind words...
