Its difficult to get the single turbo in such a little space. since its a V8 all eight cylinders would have to meet somewhere to attach to the exhaust housing on the turbo. Dont think there is enough room, therefore twin turbo will allow 4 cylinders to meet on 1 turbo.

Yes single turbo will produce more fun, i mean power than 2 small ones!

There are no pics to prove its a single turbo V8. If it is GREAT. I would love to see it and tell me more. The second link is definitely not a turbo and the first link does not show anything but a front mount intercooler. We have no idea on the car (v6 or v8)

The car is very nice though.

That work was done a XS Engineering. Below is a pic of the same system on an SC430 with the turbo low mounted on the passenger side. Here is a link to the thread with more pics.

The view is with the car on a lift and standing just behind the transmission looking to the front of the car. The large black square is the tranny oil pan.

The blue triangle on the left is the outlet from the drivers side exhaust manifold. The tube from that manifold crosses over to the passenger side and goes into the turbo. The passenger exhaust comes out above the turbo and that tube makes a backwards "S" shape to go into the turbo at the same angle as the driver side tube. The large tube on the passenger side is the turbo exhaust outlet or downpipe.

This is a low mount turbo and therefore the downpipe is virtually straight back from the turbo. If you look carefully you will see a tube with blue silicon hoses. This is the turbo compressor outlet tube and it takes the boost from the turbo and routes it to the front mounted intercooler. Out of the intercooler the boost goes to the mass air flow sensor (MAF) and then to the engines throttle body. There is one more tube that we can't really see and that is the turbo inlet tube that pulls fresh air through a filter before the turbo compresses it.

A turbo is actually 2 parts. One is the exhaust turbine. The other is the compressor. The exhaust turbine uses the energy from the engines exhaust to power the compressor. The only thing that connects the two parts is the drive shaft from the turbine to the compressor. No exhaust flows from the turbine to the compressor. The turbine is only the "engine" that spins the compressor. The compressor is a supercharger and takes atmospheric air at normal pressure and compresses it to create higher pressure and higher density... BOOST. Boost is actually MORE air than the engine could normally pump and effectively makes the engine displace MORE effectively making the engine BIGGER and of course more POWERFUL.
