Smile [Help][Question] Manual Swap sc400

Hey all, I was thinking about doing a manual swap but doing it 100 percent the right way which when building a car never happens the way you want. I was looking into getting a w58 but was concerned about the diff, I know in the cd009 the gearing is all messed up and overdrive in last gear will set your rpms crazy high. Is this the deal with a w58 as well. I was also wanted to keep the traction control button and or relocate it as well as keep the heated seats controls. I know im looking for a lot but im a purist i don't want any lights on my dash and this is including the blinking O/D light and CEL. I have seen some shift bezels with the heated seats but nothing with the trac button. Any information you have could be helpful and you dont have to answer all questions if you dont know them. I have a 1993 sc400 thanks!

Your W58 will encounter the a similar issue with the differential ratios as the CD009. Their last gear ratios are 0.783 and 0.79 respectively, while the stock a340e is at 0.705. I know that a lot of people go with the 3.26 from late model 400's or SC430's to swap in for their CD009 so that would be an option worth considering. You could always just run the stock 3.92 diff and see how you like it. The W58 is geared more similarly to the A340e than the CD009, with the CD009 having very short ratios in the first couple of gears.
Another option you can consider is the 3.76 diff found in some Aristos and some MK4 Turbo cars, just be sure you are getting a 200mm diff if from a Supra, not a 220mm.

hey I found this website with all trans gears and their respective ratios if I were to go with any of the following with gears close to the stock trans on my sc would the diff work out fine?
is there any trans on here that would suit me?

I would just stick to the tried and true transmissions if you are super concerned about the ratios. You can always change your differential gearing with plenty of different options, higher or lower, offered by Toyota in the 200mm diffs.

I would start by choosing which transmission you want to use, be it the W58 or the CD009, and find swap threads that detail the entire process. I know most people are just fine keeping the stock diff in just to get a feel for the car and see how it reacts to the new trans ratios.
