Apologies for this being my first post and selfishly looking for help. I have the engine 1uz-fe from an SC mated to a Supra Box in my 1934 Ford Sedan Hot Rod project. Through info on the internet we have the engine running however. We have an issue and hope the group can shed some light...
The ECU has the 40/40/40 connector. On purchase the loom had already been "banger wired" for running out of the car.
After a lot of googling and checking, the instructions written on the ecu appeared to be correct.
Initially fuel lines were on wrong so we had no fire......amended that and now it fires intermittently. sometimes it catches, with about half throttle applied, and then it will idle when throttle is let off....try and rev it up and it dies. Large hose from idle valve is open( when blocked off it won't start at all).
Pointers please? Appreciate any help or support. Thanks.
What a beautiful car. I grew up with street rods and customs in the 50's and 60's. I can't help you with your problems, just had to comment on your car. I know that someone on here will have the answers you are looking for. Please keep us up to date on your project. Thanks
VERY cool car. I love the thought of putting a 1uz or a 2jz into something of that era and it's certainly on my bucket list. I recently completed a 1uz swap into an old cressida with little to no info to be found online. You may need to make sure your fuel pressure is set correctly to 1uz specs (older ones are regulated at the rail, and I'm not sure what the minimum pressure should be coming to the rail). One thing that helped me immensely that will help you:
Thanks for your replies. It has taken a long time to get it to where it is today.

Looked through your entire thread... Simply amazing. I have a huge admiration for metal workers and hope that one day I can take on a ground up project like that. Can't wait to see you get this thing running!
