Dashboard Clock Illuminates, But Has Stopped
My digital dash clock stopped. Still illuminates, so I assume it's getting power. And the colon, the two little dots, keep flashing as normal. And it can be reset to a different time. It just does not run. The thermometer readout works fine. Is this a common failure mode for these SCs? Do I need to replace the clock / temp readout assembly, or is there a simpler fix? Do I need to buy a new part from my friendly Lexus dealer? or is there a better source? Thanks for the "wisdom of the group".

Thanks for that suggestion. I don't think that's the issue, as the time - both hours and minutes - can be easily reset, as they should be. The clock just does not run once it's reset. However, it could not hurt too much to squirt some solvent in around the buttons, and blow some compressed air in behind. I'll try that, as soon as we get a sun break here in Seattle. Thanks!

You're probably right, as nothing's cheap at the Lexus parts counter. I was hoping someone on the forum would recognize the problem and suggest an easy and cheap solution. Instead, it looks like mine might be the first SC300 to ever have this problem.

No, not the first. I've had to replace the clock once. It didn't do what yours did, it just died. But it's not hard to replace and I think they charged me a dollar at the pick a part.
