SAFC Mistakes/Corrections on 96 SC300
The SAFC documentation had a lot of errors regarding the install on a 1996 SC300 OBD2. I will list the mistakes and corrections so future installs by cl members will be a bit smoother.
1. The sensor is not Karmann, it should be HW-12 2. The rpm signal is not on B58, it should be B57 3. The pressure signal is not on B62, it should be on B66 |

doesn`t obdII restrict the advantage of using a piggyback? I am not sure where I heard that, but I remember hearing that using it on an obdII would limit how much the afc could compensate??? just throwing this out here, hoping that someone might give me a little leson:D

Please excuse the bringing up an old thread for no reason, but I wanted to add a few words in here so this comes up in searches.

Do we know if the same mistakes are on the OBDI for the SC400?

Hmmmm.....I know for sure that the OBDI sould be set to Karmann Vortex instead of Hot-Wire, but that's about all I know.

~Alan Where can I get the Karmann Vortex settings? Thx man, Jonny |
It's not about "getting" the settings, it's about setting the sensor type to Karmann instead of HW (Hot-Wire).
When SupraForums comes back up, search their Naturally Aspirated section for SAFC. Try to filter out the bull**** and you'll find the right answer eventually. :) ~Alan P.S. I've come to realise that on SupraForums, any post that begins with "In my opinion..." should be skipped. :p |
