Fuel pump fail under 100000km?

Default Fuel pump fail under 100000km?

My Lexus IS250 only done 80,000km but we broke down two days ago. Get towed to a mechanic. They said the fuel pump isn't working, so it needs a replacement. Is it normal?

not sure if th is250 uses an fuel pump ecu. i know in the sc models we can use an diag port in engine compartment to turn fuel pump on, and can bypas the ecu..but someone here should know more about the IS models
