Default SC 400 - cranks but does not start

Hi guys,
I have a 1992 SC 400.The car was running fine. I was at a red light idling, and the engine turned off. Since then the car cranks but does not start. The car is at the mechanic who tried everything so far with no success. I know one of the fuses is blown and when the Mechanic tries to put a new fuse there is a spark, So he cannot put a new one. He thinks there is a short circuit somewhere, and that a wire is touching the body. He checked the car and he couldn’t find anything so far. Please help. Thanks in advance and happy holidays. Mo

Try another ECU. I had the same symptoms on my 300 and it wound up being the ECU.

I know it’s a different car, but it’s still a 25 year old analog ECU with a bunch of capacitors that like to burst and cause issues.

Could be a long shot but if the fuse is for your fuel ecu then perhaps the fuel ecu or fuel pump is short circuiting.
Seems to make sense seen that you just had the engine fail at the lights.

More information would help too.
