Default Aftermarket intake manifolds

All the aftermarket performance intake manifolds seem like they have no vacuum lines at all I would assume you would vent the crank case somewhere else like a catch can or something but what about everything else like the egr valve pcv valve etc. Is all of that eliminated? Does that mean you require a tunable ecu?

Sorry I'm new on this site I thought this was going to be posted under the sc300 section. I have a 92 sc 300 it has a 2jzge engine and it seems like any aftermarket intake moves the throttle body to the driver side and eliminates all the vacuum lines. I'll try to figure how to attach them but it seems like the manufacturer doesn't matter they all look very similar

And it seems like any intake you find looks those the main point is I'm wondering if you can eliminate some of those vacuum lines without any ill effects

You would use a vacuum distribution block to source manifold vacuum for the respective parts (brake booster, vacuum actuators, FPR, etc). One big line from the manifold into the block, then a bunch of smaller ports go out of the block to the needed areas. If you are running a stock motor/ecu combo, I HIGHLY suggest not looking any further into this is something made for a boosted application and will need a bunch of parts to make it work.

those say 2jzgte, and will not work on a 2jzge cause the flange is a little different. search for 2jzge instead as they make them for the ge now also.

Vip soarer is correct, this is usually an upgrade for boosted motors running higher levels of boost where it frees up more top end horsepower and the turbo helps make up for the loss of torque down low.
on a stock engine, you would loose the low end torque of the stock intake and the FFIM is not really emissions friendly either without a bunch of work.

Default Thanks

Thanks for responding to my post it was very helpful I've had a few projects in the past but never a 2j. Just got my 92 sc and it has a stock motor and ecu right now but I put 7k aside for this build and once I sell my MR2 the process will begin. I just was confused about the intakes that I saw I've never had to delete vacuum lines like that before. Other than basic jobs like a catch can or egr delete

Oh man there's a lot more then just vacuum lines.
  • throttle cable.needs to be changed
  • Power steering tank 98% of the time needs to be moved.
  • Depending on the manifold fuse box needds to be moved.
  • There's usually 4 vacuum ports and that's not enough so block is for sure needed.
  • Injectors will need to be changed unless you get the fsmoto Mani.
  • You will also need to figure out dipstick situation
  • Only do this if going turbo .
  • If you are going turbo easiest thing would.be to buy the fsmoto kit.
I put the shark customs one and like the name says I had to do everything custom. Im sure theres more im forgetting.

Yeah I figured all that would have to be moved I got a oil filter relocation kit that also rerouted the dip stick
