Unhappy gs300/sc400 franken-diff

after sliding around a corner today, I over corrected and went off the road, skipping over an open topped concrete drainage reservoir. My rear driver`s side wheel caught the wall of the resevoir, forcing my wheel back and bending my lower control arm, tie rod, and traction rod. the the collision also put so much force on my differential that the back cover has cracked.

I know that the gs300 diff has the same ratio (3.92) and will bolt right up to my sc400, my question however is whether i can swap just the rear portion of the diff cover from the gs300 with my cracked rear cover. This would save me from having to swap the whole diff.

Thanks!
