Default Trying to identify this sensor leaking epoxy

Someone identify this sensor and why is it oozing epoxy

That is the solenoid that controls the speed on the hydraulic fan. It varies the pressure that goes to the fan to vary the speed. As you see on the left, that is the pump for the fan.

Any idea of it technical name or parts number I've search the net came up with minimal info

I have a '93 SC-400.
For my vehicle, it is called "Valve, Hydraulic Motor Control" with original P/N of 16929-50020.
Cost is probably about $180.
I'm in the process of new starter & new water pump and timing belt (one heck of an ugly project).
While cleaning up everything on the front of the engine, I found mine has leaked some "goo" as well, even after cleaning everything up thoroughly with brake cleaner. I think it may be that some of the soft plastic is simply dissolving over the years from constant exposure to heat, power-steering fluid, anti-freeze, etc. Considering the cost for a replacement, I simply cleaned mine up as best as possible with solvent and returned it to service.
