1993 lexus sc400 won't start after replacing the starter
before replacing the old starter I never had any starting problems but the car has been sitting for 2 years got in to move it and all I heard was a high pinched wine sound. So I replaced the starter now the car is cranking but no start. Any ideas???

I have a somewhat similar problem. Replaced a starter with 180,000 miles with a rebuilt Denso starter from Lexus and after 4 years and few miles the no click followed by a horrible grinding sound that is an unmistakeable sound of starter failure. With you if this is immediately after the replacement check that all connectors are seated properly particularly the cam/crank harness where it connects at the top front drivers side of the motor by the front injector as well as the coils etc. or the main harness at the top back drivers side of the engine. Probably just a matter of clicking connectors together and start her up. I won't do mine in the driveway again so I have to pay up at a garage and hope for the best. Let me know if this helps.

Do you have the check engine light on when key on? This would indicate +B circuit is powered and ecu is happy. If not, use a test light or multi meter to check +B in the diag port on the engine. +B gets power from EFI relay under the hood from the EFI fuse. The trigger side comes from the ECU and haven't figured out the requirements for it to trigger (my current problem).
Since the starter job is no fun, it probably is just a connector not plugged in.
