Default inside door handle - how does it break?

I have the inner door skins off for a stereo/alarm install and have seen references to door inner handles breaking.

How do these things break?

I'm thinking that while I have it apart I'll reinforce the weak spot, whatever that is.

I've taken the time to epoxy all the cracked panel bits so far. I've washed all the panels that came out. I shampooed the carpet and floor mats. I've fixed a crack in the vinyl on the door between the speaker and armrest. I've added a charging/com port/cradle for my iPhone on top of the HVAC stack. I lubed the window rails. I pulled the fender liners and rustproofed. I replaced the engine splash guard with an aluminum plate.

I figure I might as well cover as many bases as possible, seems like inner door handles are a problem.
