Hello, very inexperienced SC owner here. Got a 98 with about 240k and a lowbeam headlight bulb is on its very last legs. I ordered a Sylvania 9005 Xtravision off ebay but am finding that it is not slotting in properly like the old bulb did.

Do I need a 9006 for the lowbeam and is a 9005 for the highbeams?

ELI5 please, I know jack about cars, and really appreciate your time.

 

The reason why your 9005 headlight bulb doesn't work because 9006 is lowbeam bulb size. 9005 is high beams.
