Default What wire for reverse light?

I want to grab the reverse light wire to turn on my rear view camera. I'll grab the wire at the passenger side connector most likely. It'll save me some time pulling the tail light to discover fro myself if someone has he diagram handy.

Thanks

I recently Had to find that wire. I actually found a red wire (it might have a black stripe) and used a power prob light to confirm it was the reverse light. Just take the power prob light (they are cheap) and stick the prob into the connector and use the other end for a good ground. Turn the key to the on position (don't start the car). Put the car in reverse and check the prob for power,

I haven't hooked mine up yet, but it should be red/blue (+) and shared white/black (-).

called the dealer and was informed for my 92 it's red with black stripe. That's the wire leading to the connector, changes color at the tail light side of the connector. I tapped into the pin on the feed side of the connector (red/black)

Out of curiosity, did you also have a red/blue? I'm guessing it's one or the other. Or, it could be either they're too close to tell apart when dust covered and in poor trunk lighting, or "red/bl" is too ambiguous to keep straight in a game of telephone.

I just checked and yes, the tail light side of the connector is red/blue stripe.

to clarify, reverse light + at tail light connector

feed side of connector red with black stripe
tail light side of connector red with blue stripe.

caveat, I have no tested but got the red/black info from the dealer

Yes its the Red and Black wire... It also can be found under the gear shifter if you remove it.... Its a lot closer than running a wire all the way to the trunk.

now you tell me.......

I had to run the camera wire to the back anyway and the interior is out so it wasn't a big deal, but good to know.
