Hello I just bought a 1993 sc300 with almost perfect interior for a steal I'm looking forward to learning more about these cars

I do have some questions about my particular car

power windows work intermittently I have heard the wiring to the drivers door can become fatigued and cause the erratic window problems

cluster needles and ac panel need repaired where do you recommend to have this done

transmission seems to shift into second real early if you are light on the throttle and will not kick down to first other gears seem to downshift fine is this the nature of the beast or does something need adjusting

i also think I need some suspension work as there are some unpleasant noises over certain bumps
it seems that the dealer is the only source for most parts is this correct

Thanks

Tanin is a forum sponsor and the go to "guy" for HVAC and gauge cluster repair.

Intermittent operation of the windows makes me think it's a dying control switch or regulator, or rails that need lubing. I suppose it could be wiring that's bad enough to occasionally ground out or lose the +12v signal, but that seems less likely.

I second Tanin for HVAC, cluster, and ECU. Cant go wrong with them.

For suspension, first check out the control arms, most crucial being the front LCA. You can put poly bushings into stock arms, or go with something like Figs Engineering.

make sure your wiring under the driver side fender isn't damaged

I went to the junkyard to try to find parts for the SC and didn't have much luck only found one car and nothing I was looking for but it had evo 8 wheels on it so I picked up the full set with tires for $200 they have quite a bit of curb rash but they look 1000 times better than the stock wheels eventually I'd like a set of g35/7 rays but these will do for now and allow me to ls400 brake upgrade

'I am having a misfire under load sometimes it always goes away after driving for a while I'm gonna do plugs wires and cap & rotor and hopefully that takes care of it

I used NGK plugs (BKR5EIX-11) & wires (TE120).

The OEM throttle body gasket is under $10. #22271-46020.
