Default SC300 idle issues and misfire throughout powerband

Hi guys, I have a 93 SC300 and just recently started having misfire issues at idle and from about 4k rpm to 6k rpm. Just had valve cover gaskets, PCV valve, spark plugs, spark wires, Cap and rotor done about 2 weeks ago. Has been running great up until about 2 days ago. Now it idle surges from 600-1000 rpms really fast. If i give it a quick rev it smooths out for about 5 seconds before going back to surging. It also has started missing when I floor it, it is very noticeable from 4k to 6k rpm. Once in a great while the check engine light comes on for a minute then goes off and never comes back for a day or 2. Code that was stored, was 71 EGR. So would my EGR really be the cause of all of this, or could it be a bad coil or igniter or something else? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED thank you!

check coil and its plug .. those kind of misfires during acceleration can be bad / loose connections
