Default Is my starter on it way out?

The other day I got in my car as usual to go to the store and all I got was a click. Thought maybe I didn't hear what I didn't want to hear and tried it again and CLICK. Now im thinking please god no not the stater then try again and she fired up and continued to like normal for a few days, I went to move my car for the movers so they could move my stuff and bam it does it again, same two clicks then a start. I haven't had the issue again since and the last one was about a week ago. Could it be a ground issue or is it what I don't want it to be? Oh and yes, Ive done a starter on the 400 so I am well aware of what I have to look forward to if that's the case.

It could maybe be the battery terminal, i've had that happen to me. When it was loose i would get a click but it would never start. So if you haven't updated your battery terminals. Now will be the time.

Do you have a multimeter? If not pull into an Autozone or shop and have them test the battery/alt.

I know I'm a bit late but here is an update. The car still just clicks several times before it starts, I know its the relay clicking. it eventually starts and after it runs it will start fine. I'm going to replace the terminals today. I know the alt is good as i just replaced it.........again. and the battery is an optima deep cycle. However I went out of town and let the car sit for 4 days and the battery was dead, yes a yellow top was dead so now I suspect a parasitic drain on my battery that i must now track down

It is more than liklely the contacts on the starter. This is a typical Toyota problem. 10$ dollar item, pain in the derriere due to the location of the starter on the 400's. And you!will more than likely have to buy a gasket kit for the plenum also.

I have come to the conclusion that its probably about to stop starting the car so i'm going to have to dig into it and see whats going on. I am really not looking forward to it LoL.
When i get in there i'm going to check everything and take the starter to autozone and have them test it. I want to ensure I don't have to tear it apart again after I get it together.
