Default Check engine light goes off at 1800 RPM

My 93 SC400 check engine light came on. Checked fault codes and got a 24 and 31. Replaced MAF sensor with a "new" used one. Rechecked fault codes after installation and only got a 31. Took the car for a test drive and the moment the engine reached about 1800 RPM the light went off and stayed off until the RPMS dropped below about 1800. I'm a newby and don't understand what is going on. Help PLEASE
