I had my car start having bad idle issues with wild RPM swings with stalls and this was also causing the engine to bump and sputter while at speed as well. Occasionally it would smooth out but most of the time it was trying to stall with rough running. I've seen other posts much like this. Fuel pressure regulator! Fear it! I was only able to figure it out when I opened my hood after turning the car off and one time, not every time, the regulator was hissing, internally. Changed it and the car runs perfectly again!:
