Default Oil Pan; need some assistance

Welp, My oil pan has been leaking for a while now, and I decided to finally tackle the job yesterday

So, I have the oil pan "off", but not completely, it's hung up on the cross member, if someone could give me a visual on what bolts I need to loosen or remove in order to clear the cross member without ya know...needing an alignment, that'd be great!

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Search may find you more ...

You did not mention 300/400.

Another member suggested to grind down the casting.

It's a 400 sorry about that, but

Great write up, but I still can not clear that cross member after doing everything in that post. I removed the 4 bolts for the diagonal braces, removed the 6 bolts that hold the cross member to the car, and removed the eccentric bolts one on drivers side and one on the passanger side for the control arm to no avail! Car is really testing my patience, I've already broken the FIPG, but the oil pan will not clear the cross member, It's very close, but I don't have the tool necessary to grind back the casting.

I'm thinking about taking off the drive side control arm possibly to get the cross member to drop down on the side so I can remove the pan, but I need help asap!

I may be doing something wrong or leaving something out, so I thought I'd come back to you since you made the write up (good write up btw, I'm just a sucky DIYer lol)

No mention of gussets.

The gussets are metal plates near the corner (3 bolt anchors on the side). They are like web feet and give the steel member diagonal support. The gussets are about the size of a palm. 2 bolts tie the gussets to the steel frame and 2 nuts tie it to the body.
[i could have them switched]. You will not be able to move the steel cross member without undoing the gussets.

Found the "gussets", removed the 4 14m ( 2 on the driver and 2 on the passenger side) screws that hold the cross member to the bracket, still don't have the clearance to drop the oil pan, still stuck....

EDIT:

Ok, so it was me just being a crap DIYer, I didn't completely remove the bracket that you were talking about, The bracket is held in by 4 bolts, and I had just removed the 2 to disconnect it from the cross member, but the cross member was still resting on the bracket. I removed the bracket completely which finally allowed the cross member to drop and release the pan. Thanks for the help!

Is the cross member now free to move. It should drop down, not all the way but by an inch. I had to remove the driver side diagonal member going to the lower control arm completely off (2 bolts + nut on LCA). Slide your pan left to right and tilt it a bit.

The cross member is resting on the control arm, for installation I'll probably move the driver side diagonal cross member as you've suggested, just gotta clean it up, slap the gasket on, and put the pan up, thanks for all your help again!
