I have a 1JZ-GTE swapped 1995 SC300 with a 5 speed AUTOMATIC Transmission that came in the Soarer. Can anybody give me the exact model number for this transmission. Is it the A340E? Anyways on to the issue, when I floor the car it will not up shift and goes into the "red" 8k range. My ecu is not chipped. I do have bolt ons: inter cooler, 3" exhaust, and down pipe.
What would cause this?

Transmission Code is on the passenger side of the trans casing. Start there.

Will check, I am pretty sure the A340 (4) stands for 4 speed so I believe it isn't in that series but I will post back with what I find.

What I am not understanding is that the A340E is a 4 speed but I have 5 gears on my transmission tat I feel shifting. Does this mean 4 speed with overdrive, or 3 speed with Overdrive...

The 30-40LE is a 4speed trans, 3 gears and O/D.... Not sure how you feel 4 shifts....Post vid.

I know the transmission shifts in accordance with TPS and Speed Sensor, how does the speed sensor register because I have an auto SC300 diff and 19" wheel with 255/45 I believe, do you think it's throwing off the Speed Sensor?

OK so apparently everything is normal but my tach is just registering it at over 8k which is false.

When it drops into O/D at around 50-60mph and the RPM's drop its almost like a whole gear change, even sounds and feels like it depending on you're exhaust etc..

Ok my trans feels like 5 gears are you sure a340 is not 4 speed trans with overdrive because thats exactly what it feels like.

Hmm I thought they didn't count overdrive as a "gear"
