Taking the plunge for engine oil leak sealing on my SC400

Ive been advertising the car locally with the oil leak for sale, and had no luck selling it at the lowest price I can handle. $3500.00. So I put her in the shop to have the engine pulled and all the leaking gaskets replaced, incl. front and rear main seals. While its out there going to degrease the under side and install a new set of Daizen steering rack bushings. I have been debating on the best shop for the job for 6 months. $1500.00. Steering was great before so Im anxious to see how much better it can be. At 156,000 miles it was leaking 1/3 quart of oil for every 1000 miles.

So I heard lots of others on the forumn that had to replace their radiators. but never thought it would happen to me. Sure enough, we're getting a new radiator along with the engine seal up..

So finally got the car back after all most 3 weeks. Seem to have some extra exhaust noise and when you first put the car in drive, it jolts you. Its nice to have firmer shifts, but not loving the jarring into gear. Am going to look at some detent cable adjustment threads and see what i can do to soften it up. If you have a pic of where to adjust the detent cable, please post. P.S. nice to be able to see a clean oil-free 1UZ

Thanks, read a thread about adjusting the kickdown cable as well as the tps.

So I loosened the shift detent cable all the way, car still drops into drive hard. Turned my TPS sensor all the way CCW, didnt help. Im beginning to think the mechanic put the trans. mount in backwards. Ive owned the car for 4 yrs. and its never shifted into drive harshly.
