Default new/used auto transmission or fix the problem

Well i have a soarer 1jz with the auto trans which i think is the a340e and before i took out my engine and trans i was getting real funky shifts and O/D Light flashing so i googled the symptoms and turns out to be solenoids, so should i try and replace the solenoids or just get another trans ? Dont have the funds to go manual swap so its auto until i can afford the swap.

Solenoids are relitevely easy to replace. They're very easy to replace if you get the ones with the harness(s). On the other hand, you have both motor and tranny out already and you can acquire an A340E for peanuts...If under 200k or so, I'd just replace the transmission altogether. If miles aren't too bad, I'd just swap out the solenoids.

Moved to performance and maintenance. Please try and use the correct forum when posting.

You have the funds to go single but not go manual? Sounds like you need a change in priorities

All the single parts came with my new 1j when i bought it from a family member for a pretty cheap price, besides going manual from auto is way more expensive than going to a single turbo.

Default 01 ES, dead tranny....

So why can't I bolt a A543E to an engine that originally came with an U140E when my gen ES came with either one???
